Tales of Ba Sing Se Mama Ent
like The Office but it's an entertainment company in Gangnam
A small agency with big talent and big ideas, Mama Entertainment is one of the major up and coming South Korean entertainment companies that acts as the professional home for Kim MiSo, idol, choreographer, and show host; vocal coach and aspiring actor, Yoo Taeyang; multinational makeup artist, Lục Thị Thúy Quyên; semi-retired singer-actress and talent manager, Shin Bora; musical actress, singer-songwriter, Kate Kim; and talent manager Seo Jungwon. “Tales of Mama Ent” follows these 6 with little peeks into their everyday lives.

MiSo
etym. Korean: "Smile"
Hailing from rural Busan, all 17-year-old Miso wanted was to live in the city and dance, but dreams are rarely so easy. It's taken a lot of trials and tribulations to get her to where she is now: a beloved idol, choreographer, and the host of Simply K-pop and late nite webshow MiSo's Lullabam. Things still aren't perfect, and they might never be! But she's working on accepting that while navigating all of the unexpected trials and tribulations of following her teenaged dreams.

Taeyang
etym. Korean: "Sun"
Taeyang followed his brother to Seoul when he was barely 16 without much more of an idea for his future past maybe being an actor. One thing led to another and over the next near-decade, he's been trainee; an idol; a theater student and model; and now, with all of his experience, he's Mama's jack of many trades that's slowly but surely taking his first steps into a theater career.

Quyên
etym. Vietnamese: "Dove"
A makeup hobby is what put Quyen's name on the map in her home country, but a chance encounter on the streets of Seoul is what opened up dozens of other doors to her being a household name in the South Korean beauty community. Since appearing on the foreigner panel show "Beautyful World," she's been a beauty and sfx artist for all sorts of spaces—idols, actors, runway, tv and film, etc. Mama is one of many gigs for the makeup artist but they also happen to have some of her favorite people.

Bora
etym. Korean: "purple"
Beombak's Snow White, Bora has had her fair share of time in the limelight of South Korea's celebrity scene after debuting as an actress at 15 and an idol just two years later. After a lifetime's worth of the spotlight and all of the bad things that come with it, she decided to take a step back rather than endure public lashings when she got pregnant with her boyfriend's baby in her early 20s. Years later, the two have become four and Bora's enjoying a much simpler life as a talent manager and OST and guide singer.

Kate
etym. Greek (Katharos): "Pure"
A fear of failure almost stuck Kate with a Communications degree and, likely, a job she'd only tolerated. Fortunately, she took a chance on herself and on Seoul's theater industry, making her official debut in High School Musical on Stage (2013). She's only gone up from there, working as a soloist, a host on radio shows, voice acting, singing/writing/composing for commercials and other artists, and vocal coaching—while living part time in South Korea and the US.

Jungwon
etym. Korean: "Garden"
Jungwon's parents sent her to the U.S. as a punishment with hopes that their daughter's teen pregnancy would never rear its ugly head again and they were lucky enough that it didn't—not for them, anyway. When Jungwon's attempts to become a singer years later were quickly dashed by uncovered blog diary entries and swirling rumors, she was forced to give up on that dream and found herself taking on a job as a manager at DSF—eventually confronting demons she'd have rather kept buried. She's come out a little better on the other side of them, but there's still much work to be done as she takes steps as Miso's manager in Mama.
